How to Mix and Match Colors

I hear all the time that girls are afraid to use colors in their wardrobe because they don`t know how to coordinate their outfits by color. Sometimes it can be difficult to know which colors you should wear with that green shirt or that blue skirt…
There is one more myth saying that you can use just 3 colors in the same look. Probably it came from men’s business wardrobe by mistake. Just forget it!
If you really like black, great! Just make your total black stylish! But if it’s just the easiest way to solve a problem, it’s time to change!
All colors can be matched together. You just need to know basics. There are two ways to coordinate colors:

 By color temperature

Cool  + cool, warm + warm
However, if you think that blue and green are cool, and red and yellow are warm, then you need to learn how to identify them. It’s not hard, just need practice.

By chroma and value

Dark + Dark, Light + Light, Muted + Muted, Bright + Bright
You can create very attractive outfits using this method; however, it`s not universal approach and it`s not going to help you to make capsule wardrobe. But if you have a lot of clothing in your closet and you like to buy new all the time, it`s perfect for you!

And the easiest way to add colors to your wardrobe is adding one color to your achromatic outfit. Achromatic colors (white, grey and black) have no hue, like “colors without colors”. They are universal and match with anything. This risk-free way could be used as a first step to your colorful wardrobe.

If you still think that it`s too complicated, just find someone professional who can help.

Enjoy colors! 💋

Back to the Past

DSC06693 (2)

In this look, I feel like I borrowed all my clothing from my parents! Poor girl!  Mom jeans with pearls embellishments, statement plastic earrings from 80`s, checked blazer with padded shoulders, oversized sunglasses, dad sneakers from 90`s. But it`s such a nice feeling! I love that big “past come back”! I can pull off that all that clothing from my childhood without looking outdated! Perfect for creating exciting and eye-catching outfits! It is fun and a lot of warm memories!

The eighties and Nineties are walking down the street!

Fashion from the ’80s and 90`s are popular once again, but that doesn’t mean that you can just wear an outfit from 40 years ago and look great. You need to know which elements from that periods to bring back and how to balance it.
Big Shoulders

Choose between jackets, blazers, and coats with imposing shoulder silhouettes to try this trend. You can define your waist with a belt or by buttoning up to avoid appearing swamped in the fabric.

Bold Colors

Colors of the decade were bold and bright. To rock this trend today, you can add few pieces in shades such as cobalt, fuchsia, magenta, and work them into your regular wardrobe.

Sequins

I remember my mom`s cobalt blue long sequined dress! It was like a magic for me! Later she made it shorter. The glamour and decadence of the ’80s have returned, but this time they’re toned down. While sequined dresses may have been worn for exciting evening looks back in the ’80s, today that can also make a unique and eye-catching daytime look. To nail this style, all you need to do is mix your sequined dress with casual pieces like sneakers, a T-shirt, and a loose overcoat.

Ruffles

Ruffles have become popular once again. Today, you can find ruffles on many items, including tops, jackets, pants, skirts, dresses, and even shoes and bags.

Workout

Jane Fonda was very popular in the 80`s! I remember like I was watching her morning aerobics show and was very impressed with that bodysuits, headbands, neon-bright leggings and bike shorts! And later in the 90`s, I had all these dream outfits. And here we go, we are wearing bike shorts again!

Baggy Jeans

Baggy becomes the new skinny. Take the fashion lookback to the 90s with this spring’s baggy jeans trend. You’ll be seeing baggy jeans everywhere this year.

Details and Embellishment

Jeans with pearls? Sure! Why not? I love mine! Denim fashion right now is full of references to the 90s, when embellished denim was a thing. Spring 2018 detailed denim trend done in chic style. Cropped boyfriend leg jeans are embellished with faux pearl details, for a super glamorous look.

Total Black

All-black outfits are number one go-to for many people. They’re easy to put together. Black is an achromatic color is one that lacks hues such as white and grey. They have lightness but no hue or saturation.

Black matches all colors and shades! Some of you just don`t like colors, some just don`t know how to deal with matching them together.

But if you’re worried about looking a little boring (or like you’re on your way to a funeral), you need to spice up your monochromatic looks. When it comes to making an all-black outfit interesting, accessories are your best friends!

Forget about that black is flattering all of us and little black dress is a must-have for every girl! If I did not sleep well, tired or sick, I would never wear black close to my face to look ten years older and not fresh at all. And if you really believe in a theory of LBD, let it has big décolleté to be that black color far from your face.

Maybe you’re not into wearing a leopard print dress, but a chic leopard clutch is an excellent way to inject a little fun into a simple look.

Add statement bag or shoes, or bold leather bracelets, unusual silhouettes. May your total black look be really interesting!

Nothing looks dowdier than an all-black outfit that is all cotton… Vary the fabrics and textures. Try mixing up an unexpected fabric like leather, suede or faux fur.

Voluminous tops with tight bottoms. Wide legs with snug blouses. The key to keeping things interesting with a monochromatic look often comes down to how you balance out the silhouette.

Be stylish, ladies!

Do we need a color analysis?

26730960_1550815675034514_6925235064286693537_n

Do you want to know your color type? I am sure that most of you will answer positively! I was very excited about color seasons also! I had a color analysis done for myself 3 times!!! And the funniest thing (it’s not really funny) every time I had different results! After new professional analysis, I came home and started to clean and renew my wardrobe according to my “new” color season … It would be funny if it weren’t so sad…

I could not understand why I have to wear this green till the end of my life and can’t wear that if I don`t look bad in that and like it. Just because it’s not “my color” and it’s from different season`s palette. And yellow!!! Oh, Boy! My yellow does not exist!!! #facehand How I supposed to live with all this tragical information???!!! Yes, I am clear winter! Sure! I am from Siberia!  Do you want to know how this knowledge will make your life easier? Hard to say… I love colors! I like different color combinations! It is very interesting! And all kind of limitations here are uninspired! I am for color freedom! I want to wear different greens and (NO!NO!) yellow not just in the form of shoes far from my face.

However, sometimes it’s scarier when we allowed doing whatever we want and we want those limitations back again. Sure! When you don’t have a knowledge and you have so much freedom anyway you suffer or at least don’t have anything to wear

What if you do not look like any color season? Yes, you need very good image consultant to make your personal color palette from different seasons! Or … just forget about this and enjoy colors (shh… I didn’t say that). Why do we need rules if every second person is an exception?

There are two main theories: Seasonal and the most widely accepted system now is the Munsell color system. The theory behind his system is that all colors have one dominant characteristic and one or two secondaries. Colors have three color dimensions: hue (undertone), value (lightness), and chroma (color purity).

You can do whatever is more comfortable for you! But remember! Your color type never changes even if you dye your hair or just came from your Mexico vacation!

However, I think that is much more interesting to educate yourself on how to wear colors rather than what color to wear!

And if you`re tired and didn’t sleep well red lipstick makes magic!
